Detroit man charged with murdering his wife during argument

DETROIT (WWJ) -- A 29-year-old Detroit man is facing a charge of second degree murder in the death of his wife.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, Tereyl Devon Coleman fatally shot the victim, 29-year-old Raven Coleman of Clinton Township, early in the morning of Saturday, Oct. 30.

At around 3:20 a.m., Detroit Police responded to a call about a domestic dispute at a home in the 12250 block of Wayburn Ave., near Moross on Detroit's east side.

Officers found the victim lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the chest. She was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

It's alleged, prosecutors said, that the defendant and his wife were arguing when he fired a handgun, fatally wounding her.

Along with the murder charge, Tereyl Devon is facing one count of felony firearm.

He was arraigned in 36th District Court on Tuesday, and remanded into custody in the Wayne County Jail without bond. His next scheduled court appearances is a Probable Cause Conference scheduled for Nov. 17.

Social media posts show the victim was the mother of three little girls. Taneesha Lucas wrote on Facebook: "I hate my little cousins got to grow up without their mom, RIP Cuz. This is Heartbreaking."
