DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are asking the public for tips as they investigate a shooting that injured five people as they left a club on the city’s west side over Memorial Day Weekend.

Detroit police officials say the victims were leaving a social club in the area of Plymouth and Littlefield – just south of I-96 and Grand River – around 3:40 a.m. Sunday when someone opened fire on them.

Three men, ages 21, 27 and 31, and two women, ages 21 and 27 were pulling away from the club in a red Dodge Charger when it was struck by gunfire.

The three men were all hit by bullets, while the women were injured by shattered glass, according to Detroit police.

All the victims were treated and released from the hospital.

Detroit police have not identified the suspects or a motive for the shooting.

Authorities are asking anyone who knows something about the shooting to call the Detroit Police Department’s 2nd Precinct at 313-596-5240 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
