DETROIT (WWJ) -- Following what was believed to be a barricaded gunman situation, Detroit Police are searching for a 23-year-old man involved in the shooting death of a young woman.

Monday morning, just before 3 a.m., DPD responded to a report of shots fired at a home in the 12100 block of Santa Rosa Drive, in the area of Livernois and Davison Ave.

At this time, it is believed that there was a dispute between residents concerning a party thrown in the multi-family home. The confrontation escalated, with one person drawing a gun and firing multiple rounds.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a female victim in her twenties lying on the driveway. Several people were gathered around the woman, trying to provide aid, but she was already deceased.

A second victim -- a woman in her thirties -- sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, and had been taken to a local hospital.

According to DPD Captain Aric Tosqui, witnesses believed the shooter was still inside the house.

Officers set up a perimeter, and a shelter-in-place order was instituted for local residents until the situation could be resolved.

Because DPD's Special Response Team was already involved in another barricaded gunman situation, a Michigan State Police Emergency Response Team was called in to assist.

Chief James White provided an update on Facebook at around 8:30 a.m.

Once the scene was secured, MSP was able to fly a drone camera into the house. The live feed from the drone revealed that the suspect had already escaped and was not inside.

The suspect is Keyon Fields, a 23-year-old black male. Fields is currently on probation for carrying a concealed weapon and has a number of bench warrants out for his arrest. He is considered to be armed and dangerous, and police say he should not be approached.

If anyone sees Fields, or has any information about his whereabouts, they are asked to call 911 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
