DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit teenager has been missing for more than a week and Detroit police are asking for the public’s help in bringing him home.

Authorities say 15-year-old Tylend Taylor was last seen around 10 p.m. on April 6 at his grandmother’s house in the 5900 block of Drexel -- near Harper and Dickerson Avenues, close to Chandler Park Golf Course on the city’s east side.

Taylor’s grandmother says she last saw him sleeping that night, but when she woke up the next morning, he was gone.

His grandmother says this is the first time he has gone missing.

Police describe Taylor as a 15-year-old male, 6-foot-3 and approximately 220-230 lbs. The teen has curly, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing navy blue shorts and tan gym shoes.

Taylor is reportedly in good physical and mental condition, but Detroit police are searching for answers as to where he may be.

Anyone who has seen Tylend Taylor or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact the Detroit Police Department’s Fifth Precinct Detective Unit at 313-596-5540 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-Speak-Up.
