Detroit police seek man who robbed 16-year-girl while armed [VIDEO]

DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Police Department is asking for info from the community regarding a man who robbed a 16-year-old girl while armed.

Police say at approximately 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, in the area of Kentfield Street and Clarita Avenue on the city's northwest side, a 16-year-old girl was walking home from the store when she was approached by an armed suspect on a bicycle.

The suspect reportedly took her black Adidas backpack -- which contained two cellphones and an unknown amount of money -- and fled the scene.

The suspect was last seen traveling west on Clarita Avenue.

No injuries were reported.

Police describe the male suspect as being in their early 20s, standing 5'7" tall with a skinny build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and dark-colored shorts.
