DETROIT (WWJ) -- Friday morning is off to quite the start for one Detroit resident who woke up to see that a minivan had crashed into his house.

At around 6:30 a.m., on Erwin and Woodlawn avenues, on the city's east side, a van drove across a resident's front yard and into their porch.

The owner of the house was asleep on the couch when he was awoken by the crash.

"I just heard a big explosion -- I thought it was the wind -- but then it knocked me off the porch," said Antoine Campbell. "I got up and I saw what I saw: A big accident in the front of the house."

The resident added that the male driver was arguing with another man before the driver fled the scene on foot.

Authorities are currently not sure who the car belongs to.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Charlie Langton, who was on the scene, said the immediate area smelled like gas and that authorities are worried about a leak. DTE is currently on the scene working on fixing the issue.

Langton reports that it seems like the van hit some kind of gas line.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

Injuries have currently not been reported, but Langton reports that it doesn't seem like anybody was hurt in this incident.

The driver has still not been found.

The Detroit police and fire department are all on the scene as they investigate the crash.
