DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is working to find an audience member who yelled a racial slur during a Christmas concert.

According to a post on the DSO Facebook page, toward the end of Friday night's performance of "A Charlie Brown Christmas: Cyrus Chestnut and Friends," someone in the hall shouted a racial slur.

"Racism and bigotry have no place in Orchestra Hall," DSO management said on Facebook, "and behavior like this is unacceptable."

In their post, the DSO said that once the ticketholder is identified, they will be permanently banned from all future events.

"Live music is a profoundly human experience that taps into our emotions and provides us all with a sacred space for listening. We apologize that this space was violated."
