Detroit Zoo's 'Wild Lights' returns next week – Get your tickets now

(WWJ) One of metro Detroit's most popular holiday events is back this season.

The Detroit Zoo will be aglow for 32 nights with more than 5 million LED lights illuminating trees, buildings and over 280 sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo when "Wild Lights" returns November 20, 2020, through January 3, 2021.

Experience the magic of the Detroit Zoo in winter as you take in the lights, sights and sounds of the season for guests of all ages -- select weeknights and Sundays from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays 5 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are required for all guests ages 2 and older (under 2 admitted free). Tickets sold in advance (either online or on site at Customer Care during daytime Detroit Zoo hours) will range from $15 to $20 throughout the 32-night run of the event. While advance tickets are recommended, a limited number of walk-up tickets will be sold at the gate for all nights and time slots for $20 per person. The Zoo recommends guests always check the online web store for the best prices available. BUY TICKETS HERE.

Guests should note that Wild Lights is an outdoor event, and there will be no access to animal habitats.

New this year, Detroit Zoological Society Members will have exclusive access to the first three nights of Wild Lights. Following those three nights, half of the tickets for the other dates will be reserved for members only. Space is limited.

As Zoo officials continue to prioritize guests' health and safety during the pandemic, they've made a few modifications. The Zoo will be limiting the nightly capacity of Wild Lights to 2,100 guests with no more than 1,050 in the park at one time during the event. Also, dining locations will be open, but seating will be limited to outdoor areas only, and the 4D Theater experience and Winter Rink will be closed.

Guests should note that, as always, an $8 parking fee is required for all vehicles.
