DETROIT (WWJ) -- An abandoned apartment building caught fire on Monday morning in Detroit.
WWJ’s Charlie Langton was on the scene, and reports that Detroit firefighters rescued several squatters from the two-story complex, which is located near the I-75 Service Drive and Clay Street.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries from heat and smoke inhalation, but refused medical treatment and is expected to be okay.
Authorities from the Detroit Fire Department said that they expect the second level of the building to collapse at some point, but they were able to rescue everyone in the building without any injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by officials.
