But what happens when a state’s population shrinks? Because that’s exactly what’s happened in Michigan. A year after the state lost a congressional seat following the 2020 Census due to failing to grow as quickly as other states, Michigan saw a population decline in 2021.
It was the first time in a decade the state lost residents. How did that happen, and what exactly does it mean for Michiganders moving forward? In a new edition of the Daily J podcast, WWJ’s Zach Clark takes a look at what the fallout might be if the trend continues.
