DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police are still searching for a suspect after a DoorDash driver was shot and killed while delivering an order in Corktown over the holiday weekend.
Detroit police are investigating the shooting that happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday at the Clement Kearn Gardens apartment complex, near Bagley and Rosa Parks.
Detroit Police Chief James White said during a Tuesday afternoon press conference three people were in a car in the area when they saw a man in a black ski mask walking towards them and then started shooting at one of the vehicles.
The DoorDash employee was making a delivery at the time and was fatally shot, White said.
Reports said over the weekend the victim was in his 20s, but White didn't provide any more information about the victim on Tuesday.
Authorities are still interviewing people who witnessed the shooting and other neighbors in the area.
Police were looking for a large, dark-colored SUV in connection to the crime, according to local reports over the weekend, but White didn't give a description of the suspect or the vehicle on Tuesday.
Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or knows something about it is asked to call Detroit police at 313-267-4600 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
