DETROIT (WWJ) – A cash reward is up for grabs for anyone who can help Detroit police track down a man accused of trying to light a gas station on fire last week.
The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 7 at a Marathon gas station on 7 Mile Road near the Southfield Freeway, according to Detroit police.
Authorities say he stole from the store and then tried to light the place on fire. Officials did not say what the suspect stole from the store.
The suspect allegedly entered the gas station and poured gas on the ground near the front door, but employees were able to chase him off before he could light the fire.
