WWJ’s Charlie Langton was on the scene, where the side of the apartment building collapsed and debris from damaged vehicles littered the area.

Police say the driver seemingly lost control of the semi before he smashed into five vehicles, a telephone poll and the building. He then got out of the truck, yelled “Call 911” and took off on foot.

According to authorities, the driver ran south on Greenfield and was last seen wearing a white jogging suit.

No injuries were reported in the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detroit Police.
