ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- Former president of the University of Michigan, Dr. Mark Schlissel, is under investigation for potential misuse of university funds in support of his relationship with a female subordinate.
As of right now, we don't know what funds the university is talking about or the circumstances surrounding those funds.
Employment attorney Jennifer Lord, of Royal Oak, who has read every email between Schlissel and the subordinate said that she doesn't think the Board of Regents have a good reason to fire him on the basis of sexual harassment.
"This is not sexual harassment, I don't think it's sexual harassment unless there's something out there where she [the subordinate] told him that it was making her uncomfortable and to stop and he continued," said Lord.
But Lord said she believes that the money aspect could be "far more troubling" for Schlissel.
Schlissel was fired by the school board on Saturday night for having an inappropriate relationship with a female subordinate after emails between the two were discovered.
