Firefighters rescue 2 after West Bloomfield home goes up in flames

Two people are hospitalized, but alive after they were pulled by Oakland County firefighters from a burning home early Saturday morning.

WEST BLOOMFIELD TWP (WWJ) - Two people are hospitalized after they were pulled by Oakland County firefighters from a burning home early Saturday morning.

As reported by WDIV, West Bloomfield Township fire crews sprang into action just before 6 a.m. on July 22 when a house fire was reported off Red Coat Lane.

When first responders arrived at the scene, they quickly located two residents and got them to safety. The pair was transported to a local hospital where they remain at this time.

The conditions of the two victims is unknown.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

According to the department, fire alarms in the home were functioning normally.
