WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) – Five more students in Wayne County have been charged with making threats against their schools in the days following last week’s deadly mass shooting at Oxford High School that killed four students and injured six other students and a teacher.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worth announced the charges Tuesday against students at separate schools, stemming from incidents between Dec. 2-6.

Those charged include:
• A 13-year-old male student at Casimir Pulaski Elementary/Middle School in Detroit
• A 13-year-old male student at Brownell School in Grosse Pointe Farms
• A 14-year-old male student at J.E. Clark Preparatory Academy in Wayne
• A 12-year-old female student at Palmer Park Preparatory Academy in Detroit
• A 12-year-old male student at Strong Middle School in Melvindale

The students were all charged with one count of intentional threat to commit an act of violence against a school, school employee(s) or students. The students at Brownell School and Strong Middle School were also charged with the malicious use of a telecommunications device.

All the students were expected to appear in court for preliminary hearings on Tuesday afternoon before Referee Leslie Graves.

The prosecutor did not disclose any details about the alleged threats or when each student made them.

Worthy noted “juveniles do not receive adult sentences. Upon conviction, the judge will fashion a sentence considering the crime committed, and the rehabilitation of the juvenile offender.”

Worthy’s announcement comes a day after she revealed two 13-year-old students in Detroit were facing similar charges for threats they made on Friday and Saturday. More than a dozen students across metro Detroit have been similarly charged in the past week.

Metro Detroit schools have been on edge in the week since the Oxford shooting, with a rash of threats and dozens of school closures.

During a press conference last Thursday, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said “If you’re making threats, we’re going to find you.”

“I don’t know what is in people’s minds to think after a real tragedy it makes sense to make threats," Bouchard said last week. "And typically, we see it fall into two buckets: one is, they think it’s funny. It is not. Two, they think it’s a way to get out of school. It is not. It’s a crime. Even if it’s not a credible threat against the school."
