DETROIT (WWJ) – A flight headed to Amsterdam from Detroit had to be diverted to Boston over the weekend due to an unruly passenger.

Delta Flight 134 took off from Detroit Metro Airport Friday night, headed for the Netherlands, but it had to be diverted to Boston Logan International Airport shortly before 9 p.m., according to the Associated Press.

The plane was met by law enforcement and the passenger was taken off the flight.

Authorities have not released any information about the unruly passenger and have not said exactly what happened on the flight, according to the report. It was not immediately clear whether they will face charges.

Delta officials said the diversion was “standard procedure” for such an incident.

“We have zero tolerance for unruly behavior on our aircraft and express apologies to our valued customers and crew for experiencing this unfortunate delay in their travels,” the airline said in a statement to the AP.

Police have not released any further details.

The flight, an Airbus A330-300, with nearly 300 passengers and crew on board, resumed its trip to Amsterdam after the delay and arrived more than three hours late, according to the AP.
