
DETROIT (WWJ) -- More than half-a-dozen guns were recovered by Detroit Police Ninth Precinct Special Operations officers this week when they served search warrants in three separate cases.
Police released a photo showing off the weapons and some other items seized, while sharing a few details about the investigations on Friday.
The first warrant was executed at a home in the 12700 block of Loretto. In that case, police said officers were searching the home after a victim reported a domestic incident on Monday.
Two weapons were seized: an Olympic Arms AR-15 pistol, and a silver/black Smith & Wesson SD40VE that police said had been stolen.
Police also recovered a black Molle bulletproof vest with steel strike plates, along with ammunition and spent casings at the home.
In another cased, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 8200 block of Orchard, near Van Dyke north of 8 Mile Rd. in Warren.
Police said officers searched the house after an incident in the 14000 block of Faircrest in Detroit during which an offender pointed a gun at a victim following an crash on Feb. 5.
A total of five guns were recovered from the Warren home: a silver Ruger revolver 44, a black/silver Ruger SR9 9mm, a black Century Arms Draco 7.62x39 pistol, a Palmetto State Armory Ar-15 5.56 rifle, and a Husan & Eksen MKA1919 12ga shotgun, along with ammunition, magazines and a holster.
The suspect was arrested, police said.
In the third case, a search warrant was served at a home in the 13800 block of Pinewood, just south of 8 Mile near Schoenherr in Detroit.
Police said officers responded to the home on Wednesday after a ShotSpotter notification was received. They found shell casings at the scene and obtained a search warrant. Inside the home police found a black Bersa Thunder 9mm pistol and a black Mossberg 12ga shotgun.
