DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are seeking tips from the public to help find a man accused of committing an armed robbery at a store on the city's east side last week.

Investigators say at around 7 p.m. on Feb. 24, the man held a cashier at gunpoint inside the Family Dollar store in the 19700 block of Mound Road near East Outer Drive in Detroit.

Preliminary investigation shows the man walked up to a counter as if he was making a purchase, produced a gun and demanded money from the cash register.

Police say the employees complied to his demands and he fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was seen wearing a black hat, black ski mask, red winter coat and brown boots.
