ROMULUS (WWJ) -- Emergency crews in Romulus are dealing with a hazardous materials situation involving a fuel spill.
WWJ’s Charlie Langton reports that firefighters are out along Ecorse Road between Inkster and Middlebelt.
Just before 3:30 a.m. a trucker was leaving a yard when he hit something and punctured a fuel tank.
The fuel spill involves up to 100 gallon of diesel, some of which remains on Ecorse road because the river didn’t immediately realize he had a hole in his gas tank.
No injuries have been reported in the incident, and Ecorse Road remains blocked as Romulus hazmat crews clean up the spill.
