Police investigating fatal shooting outside Romulus liquor store

ROMULUS (WWJ) -- Police are releasing new information about a fatal shooting that happened at a Romulus liquor store this week.

On Monday shortly after 11 p.m., Romulus police responded to a call reporting a man had been shot several times at Top Shelf party store, located at Inkster and Eureka roads.

When they arrived, officers found 28-year-old Chrevon Rayman Lawrence of Detroit collapsed outside of his car in the parking lot with several gunshot wounds. The man later died from his injuries.

Witnesses told police that the alleged gunman had been robbed at gunpoint by the Lawrence, along with two other suspects.

The shooting reportedly occurred sometime after the robbery had taken place, and a firearm was recovered at the scene near the victim.

Investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of Tenaje Gaiter, 22, Joseph Miles, 26, and an additional unknown male suspect.
