Human remains found near missing woman's car in Saginaw County

(WWJ) Human remains have been discovered in a soybean field, about 15 miles northwest of Flint in Saginaw County.

While the remains have not yet been positively identified, the Barry County Sheriff's Office said they was found by a K-9 team near a missing woman's car Maple Grove Township.

Rachel Lynn Hazen's car was located by Michigan State Police troopers in a helicopter on Tuesday.

Hazen, 41, of Castleton Township, disappeared back on July 21. She was last seen by a neighbor leaving her son's home in Dowling, which is just south of Hastings.

A friend reported Hazen missing five days later.

Authorities have not said how it is believed that the woman died, or if foul play is suspected, as the investigation continues with help from MSP. No further details were released.
