(WWJ) -- Kroger is looking for some help around the holidays.
The grocery chain announced it is hoping to hire 1,200 metro Detroit workers for the upcoming holiday season during a hybrid job fair on Wednesday.
Retail jobs are available at Kroger stores, as well as positions in e-commerce, manufacturing, supply chain, merchandising, logistics, corporate, and pharmacy and healthcare.
Kroger says its average hourly pay is more than $16 per hour.
Kroger spokesperson Rachel Hurst tells WWJ there’s a lot that comes along with a paycheck, including college tuition and retirement packages.
“Between health benefits, college tuition and my favorite is the retirement,” Hurst says. “After a year of service with us, all of our associates are eligible for insurance and retirement benefits.”
A competitive benefits package, discounts for employees, and further training and development programs to support employees are also in place at the company.
A hiring event is planned for Wednesday afternoon, which will include virtual and on-site interviews from 2-5 p.m.
