DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Detroit man is facing a pair of felony charges in connection with the stabbing of a stranger at a west side bus stop last week.
The apparently random crime happened just after 8 a.m. on Friday, August 4, in the 18300 block of Warren Ave., near the Southfield Freeway.
It is alleged, according to investigators, that a 25-year-old Detroit woman was standing at a bus stop when she was approached by the defendant, 34-year-old Rodes Perly Francillion.
Police said Francillion, who was armed with a knife, stabbed the victim causing non-fatal injuries.
He fled the scene, but was tracked down and arrested by Detroit police later that day.
As for why Francillion allegedly attacked the victim, there is no information at this time. According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, the defendant and the victim did not know each other.
Francillion is charged with with one count of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, and one count of Felonious Assault. He was arraigned in 36th District Court Monday afternoon, and ordered held on a $50,000 cash/surety bond.
A bond re-determination hearing in the case is scheduled for August 9, followed by a Probable Cause Conference set for August 15.
