
(WWJ) A 46-year-old man has been charged with premeditated murder in the death of a young woman whose body was found in a garage.
Prosecutors said the 20-year-old victim, Brandy Lashay Nelson of Detroit, had a child with her alleged killer, Juma Reeves of Detroit.
The evening of March 2, a family member was searching for Davis — who'd been missing since Feb. 16 — when he discovered her remains in a garage in the 5540 block of Drexel Street, near Chandler Park on the city's east side, police said.
Officers responded to the scene, and Davis' body was taken to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office where it was determined that she was killed by multiple blunt force trauma.
After investigation by the Detroit Police Detroit Police, Reeves was identified as a suspect and a warrant request was presented to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Davis was arrested Tuesday and arraigned in 36th District Court Wednesday on charges of First Degree Murder and Tampering with Evidence in the case.
