TROY (WWJ) -- Police are investigating the theft of a luxury vehicle in Oakland County.

According to Troy Police, the victim had listed his 2004 Bentley Continental for sale on Facebook Marketplace, and had been speaking with someone interested in buying the car.

At around 5:45 p.m. last Saturday, the potential buyer came to see the vehicle, in the 1200 block of E. Big Beaver Rd.,

While they were looking at the car, the suspect got into the driver’s seat and produced a semiautomatic handgun.

The victim told police that the suspect then looked away briefly, at which point the victim pulled out his own handgun. It's allege that suspect then accelerated at the victim, striking him.

That's when the victim said he fell over and and accidentally discharge a round from his gun.

The suspect then fled in the Bentley, and the suspect’s passengers left in the vehicle they originally arrived in.

The investigation is ongoing.
