FARMINGTON (WWJ) - Farmington High School went on lockdown for just under a half an hour on Tuesday afternoon after a man in the area was spotted with a gun.

Farmington's Director of Public Safety told WWJ that the man in question was legally carrying the weapon, but out of caution, officials put the high school on Shiawassee near Orchard Lake on a lockdown.

Police spoke with the man, who left the area shortly afterward.

The lockdown lasted 20 minutes.
