DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police are investigating an incident where a barrage of bullets were fired into a man’s car on Detroit’s west side early this morning.
WWJ’s Charlie Langton reports that the man was sleeping in the driver’s seat of his Jeep Grand Cherokee on Winthrop Street near I-96 and Greenfield Road around 4:45am when someone shot into his vehicle 16 times.
The victim survived the attack, but was reportedly shot in the leg. A baby seat was found in the backseat of the vehicle, but no child was reported on the scene.
Detroit police are still investigating the circumstances behind the shooting.
