Woman assaulted, man shot after ski-masked suspects force their way into Detroit home

(WWJ) A Detroit man is in critical condition after he was shot during an attempted robbery at his home Sunday night.

According police, someone knocked on the door of the house on Carmen Street near John R and Seven Mile, around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 6.

When a 42-year-old woman answered the door, she was assaulted by one man as he and two others forced their way into the home.

A 44-year-old man inside the home was shot and critically wounded when he refused to hand over any money, police said.

Police did not say how seriously the woman was injured.

The suspects got away and remained at large on Monday.

Suspect number one is described as a male, 5’8” tall, wearing dark clothing with black ski mask and armed with a gun. Suspects two and three are described as unknown males, also wearing all dark clothing and black ski masks.
