
(WWJ) A 17-year-old suspect is in police custody, after a shooting that put an 18-year-old man in the hospital.
It happened at around 8:30 p.m. Monday n the 27000 block of Arlington, near 11 Mile Rd., east of Lahser, in Southfield.
Accursing to investigators, the victim met up with another young man at a home to sell him an iPhone. But instead of paying him for the phone, the victim reported, the suspected grabbed it and took off running.
When the victim chased the suspect into an open garage there was a struggle, police said, and a second suspect shot the victim once in the back.
The victim then ran to a nearby house where a resident called 9-1-1.
Police responded to the scene and arrested one suspect, identified as a 17-year-old Southfield man.
On Tuesday, police said the victim was recovering at a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
No names have been released as the investigation continues.
