(WWJ) A Detroit man is facing felony charges after Michigan State Police say he attacked two people with a hammer in Royal Oak Township.

MSP troopers were called to a home in the 21000 block of Bethlawn Blvd., just north of 8 Mile Rd., at around 5:15 p.m. Sunday on a report of a woman who'd been hit in the head with a hammer.

The suspect, who fled the scene after the alleged attack, was identified as 51-year-old Reginald Anderson.

Police said an investigation revealed that there were two victims who'd been struck in the head — a man and a woman — and both were taken to a local hospital.

According to MSP, it was determined that the suspect had been smoking crack and became paranoid. Police said Anderson believed he was being “cheated" and hit both victims with the hammer before fleeing.

He was later tracked down, arrested and lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

Anderson was arraigned Tuesday on two counts of felonious assault, one count of aggravated domestic assault and one count of aggravated assault. Bond was set at $15,000 cash.

Police said both victims were treated for their injuries and released.
