DETROIT (WWJ) – Police are searching for a man who they say robbed a pair of dollar stores on Detroit’s west side Friday night in the span of one hour.

Just after 7 p.m. Friday the suspect entered a Family Dollar store at the corner of Greenfield and Plymouth Roads. He then pulled out a gun, walked behind the counter, took an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled the scene.

Then around 7:40 p.m. the same suspect hit another store about three miles north. Officials say he entered a Dollar General at McNichols and Hubbell, pulled out a gun and announced he was robbing the store, according to police officials.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a blue Chevy Impala with a gray stripe.

Police describe the suspect as about 6-feet-tall with his hair in locs with blond tips. He was last seen wearing an all-black Jordan jumpsuit and red shoes.

Authorities released photos of the suspect and car he was seen fleeing the second robbery in.
