DETROIT (WWJ) -- The Macomb County Sheriff's Office arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized 160 grams of methamphetamine, several firearms and a minivan during a narcotics bust in Detroit.
On Mar. 29, the Macomb County Sheriff's Enforcement Team (SET), along with Michigan State Police and the County of Macomb Enforcement Team (COMET), executed a search warrant at an address near 7 Mile and Livernois.
According to the sheriff's office, SET detectives obtained information about a 32-year-old man distributing meth in Macomb County and Detroit. How investigators connected this information to the Detroit residence listed on the warrant is not known.
After entering the home, law enforcement detained a man and woman, as well as several children, while they searched the property.
At that time, officers took possession of around 160 grams of meth, approximately $1,700 in cash, two unregistered handguns and one 7.62 AK-style firearm.
They confiscated a number of firearm magazines and ammunition along with scales and packaging material said to be commonly used for narcotics.
Authorities also impounded a Dodge Caravan.
Following the search, the man was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Detroit Detention Center. The woman was released.
The case has been forwarded to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, and the suspect is expected to be charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and three counts of felony firearm.
SET will continue to oversee the case, per the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.
