(WWJ) -- If you’re among the many Michiganders who have been affected by frequent power outages this summer, here’s a chance for you to share your feedback with the state.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel wants residents to provide details about the circumstances surrounding their power outages, specifically for the week of August 9 when heavy storms left nearly one million Michigan households in the dark.

Questions on the feedback form include:

-Who is your utility provider?
-What is your property address? (Specify residential or commercial/business)
-What county do you live in?
-When was the last time you were without power and how long did it last?
-Have you lost power more than once this summer?

The page also notes that those with both residential and business accounts should fill the form out twice.

“As a state, we must put a heavier priority on examining our utility companies and how they adapt to the changing climate and needs of their millions of customers,” Nessel said in a statement. “It remains unacceptable that Michigan residents have grown to expect power outages every time there’s severe weather in the forecast. We can -- and must -- do better. I appreciate the public’s help by providing my office with information on the hardships they faced during extended outages.”

Nessel has been openly critical of Michigan utilities such as DTE Energy and Consumer’s Energy over the course of this summer, which has brought numerous outages as a result of severe weather in the region.

Just last week, the Michigan attorney general encouraged DTE and Consumer's to voluntarily credit customers affected by the outages and to provide greater credits to assist customers who have lost hundreds of dollars or more in food and alternative housing costs.

As of Wednesday morning, another 30,000 DTE Energy customers were without power following another round of storms that hit metro Detroit on Tuesday evening.
