(WWJ) Michigan State Police are continuing to investigate a freeway shooting that had I-94 shut down at I-75 and I-96 on Monday.

The MSP Special Investigation Section is assisting Metro South Post with the investigation that had troopers searching for evidence following the incident along eastbound I-94, Monday afternoon.

Police said an investigation revealed that the suspect "was road raging with a tow truck driver," when the suspect drove onto the shoulder and fired shots, striking the tow truck.

Police said there were no injuries reported.

There have been no arrests in the case, and there iis no description of a suspect or suspect vehicle at this time.

While I-94 has reopened, MSP said the public should anticipate more road closures in the area as the investigation continues.

This incident follows numerous freeway shootings in metro Detroit since last summer; many of which MSP said were road rage-related.

"Again, there is no reason to road rage with anyone. It is even worse to fire a gun at someone," MSP said, following Monday's shooting. "There is no reason. Ever. None. It’s only driving. Going from one place to another. That’s it. There is really nothing more to it. We must do better."
