ROCHESTER HILLS (WWJ) — An investigation into the death of a mother and daughter in Rochester Hills is ongoing.
On Monday night, the Oakland County Sheriff's Department was called to an apartment complex on Stratford Street near Walton and Adams where they found a 75-year-old woman and her 50-year-old daughter dead from gunshot wounds in a bedroom.
Deputies said they spoke with the 75-year-old woman's husband and father of their daughter who said both woman had being going through medical issues; he had gone to check on them.
After a preliminary investigation, detectives found the daughter had a history of suicide attempts. The woman's mother had moved in with her to help with her daughter's care.
Detectives say this may be a murder-suicide — it appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time.
Investigators are working to rule out foul play, the OCSO said.
