WARREN (WWJ) -- The mother of a woman shot and killed in Warren last spring is pleading for tips from the public to help track down her daughter's killer.

Warren Police are searching for 23-year-old Ashinay Horton-Starks, who stands accused of the murder of 26-year-old Johnice Clark last spring.

Police said the two women did not know each other, but got into an argument over a man at a party on June 5, 2021. When Clark left in her car, she was allegedly followed by Horton-Starks who opened fire at her from another vehicle along Schoenherr Rd.

With the alleged shooter still on the run, Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $5,000 for the tip that leads to Horton-Starks' whereabouts.

She is described as a black female, 5'7'' tall and around 120 lbs.

At a news conference Friday, Clark's mother, Marshawn McNair, joined police in asking community members to come forward with whatever they may know.

"Justice will be served, and it should be served the right way," McNair said. "We're here today because we want justice the right way. We don't want nobody to take no more lives. Please, if you know any information, please just call Warren Police Department or Crime Stoppers."

McNair also spoke directly to Horton-Starks, saying: "You took somebody's life. You yourself, Miss. Starks... I hear I think is a mother yourself. You're a cosmetologist, you had things going on for yourself. It's better to just turn yourself in, young lady."

Two other people, including Horton-Starks' mother, have already been arrested in connection with the case.
