DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police are trying to get to the bottom of a shooting that the victim says happened while he was driving along I-94 in Detroit.
The man arrived at Beaumont Dearborn Hospital on Sunday evening to receive treatment for a bullet wound to the arm.
Police say the victim was initially uncooperative and vague about the incident, but eventually told troopers he was in Ypsilanti when he got a flat tire. He then had two other men drive him to Detroit to get a new tire.
As the men were on I-94 near the Southfield Freeway, the victim says someone in another car opened fire on them, hitting him in the right arm.
The driver took the victim to the hospital, but apparently dropped him off a couple blocks away and made him walk. The man would not identify the other two men who were in the car with him.
Troopers searched for evidence of a shooting along I-94, but were unable to find anything. They also didn't find a car with a flat tire in Ypsilanti.
The investigation from Michigan State Police is ongoing.
