DETROIT (WWJ) – Michigan State Police are still searching for a man who allegedly opened fire along I-75 in Detroit during rush hour traffic on Friday.

The road rage incident unfolded around 5 p.m. as the suspect and victim failed to yield to one another at the end of the on-ramp from Outer Drive to northbound I-75, police said.

The driver of what is believed to be a two-door, black Ford pickup truck from the early 1990s fired shots at the victim’s vehicle, which was occupied by two adults, a teenager, 9-year-old and a 5-year-old, MSP said.

Police found one bullet in the victims' vehicle and no injuries were reported in the road rage shooting.

The suspect is believed to be a Black man in his 40s or 50s with short dark hair and a large beard.

Authorities on Saturday released surveillance photos of the suspect’s truck.

Police say the Ford, which is likely a 1992-1996 model, has a plastic sheet covering the passenger window and has a loud exhaust.

The truck also had a blue and white handicap parking placard hanging from the rearview mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to call the MSP Metro South Post at 734-287-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
