WAYNE COUNTY (WWJ) - Michigan State Police have closed a section of I-75 after a road rage incident between two drivers led to gunfire on Friday evening.
The victim called authorities around 6:30 p.m. to report he had been shot at by another driver on the northbound lanes of I-75 and Shaefer Rd in Detroit.
The victim told troopers the shooting happened after neither he nor the suspect yielded to one another at the end of a ramp, which merged from Outer Drive onto NB I-75.
The suspect then fired a gun from his vehicle, aiming for the victim's vehicle.
Troopers closed the north traveling lanes of I-75 before Outer Drive for about an hour and a half while they searched for a crime scene.
MSP said troopers met with the victim at his home and were able to recover a bullet from his vehicle.
WWJ's Karen Trombley said the freeway has since reopened, although traffic is slowly moving through the area.
No injuries were reported and MSP did not release further details -- the case remains under investigation.
