DETROIT (WWJ) – An investigation is underway after a hit-and-run crash involving a school bus in Detroit on Monday afternoon.
The crash happened on the off-ramp from southbound I-75 to McNichols Road on Monday when a box truck sideswiped a school bus from Loving Academy, according to Michigan State Police.
There were 29 students and three adults on the charter school bus, according to MSP. No one was injured.
The principal of Loving Academy responded to the scene and assisted troopers with names of the children involved. Troopers blocked off the ramp for the investigation.
The box truck is described only as white. The damage was "so minor it is possible the box truck driver may not have known they struck the bus," MSP officials said.
The school is notifying parents of the students involved, MSP officials said.
