
LANSING (WWJ) – A suspect is facing a long list of charges after allegedly slamming his car into a Michigan State Police vehicle while trying to avoid arrest Saturday.
MSP officials say a trooper from the Lansing Post spotted the suspect speeding at 97 mph along I-69 in Clinton County Saturday and tried to pull them over.
The suspect continued to speed away and was later located in neighboring Shiawassee County.
Officials say a trooper tried to use stop sticks to bring the suspect to a halt, but the suspect rammed the trooper’s vehicle.

The suspect then got out on foot and ran away, before troopers eventually brought them into custody and found a gun and cocaine.

The suspect was being held in jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine, felony firearm, felon in possession of a firearm and driving without a license.
Authorities have not released the name, age or hometown of the suspect. It was not clear what felony the suspect had previously been convicted of. Officials didn't say exactly when or where the incident occurred.
No one was injured during Saturday's incident.
