LANSING (WWJ) -- A 33-year-old Owosso man may have earned himself the mother of all traffic citations after driving 156 miles per hour down a mid-Michigan freeway, catching the attention of Michigan State Police.

At around 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, MSP stopped a 2020 Dodge Charger on eastbound I-496 near Martin Luther King Blvd in Lansing.

According to law enforcement, the man behind the wheel had been speeding, driving 86 miles per hour over the 70-miles-per-hour limit.

The man was also found to have a restricted license with conditions as to when he was allowed to drive.

Troopers issued citations for reckless driving and for violating the conditions of the restricted license. Both are misdemeanor offenses.
