PONTIAC (WWJ) - A 27-year-old supervisor now faces murder charges after deputies say he shot and killed an employee after a series of work altercations in June.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said Nathanial Marceal Ebarra was charged with second-degree murder this week in connection to the June 27th death of Daniel Leroy Brotemarkle, 25.
The murder charge comes after Ebarra was already charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
Deputies accuse Ebarra of escalating a work disagreement into a deadly shooting after he followed Brotemarkle home.
According to police, the alleged murder occurred shortly before noon on June 27 in the 800 block of Woodland Drive in Pontiac.
When police arrived on scene, Brotemarkle was found by police laying unresponsive outside his home with multiple gunshot wounds. Police found 9mm shell casings from the scene and Brotemarkle was rushed to a local hospital.
He died of his injures shortly after arrival.
During their investigation, detectives discovered Brotemarkle and his supervisor, Ebarra, were involved in a disagreement at work. Brotemarkle ultimately left in a company truck and drove home.
According to deputies, Ebarra and other-coworkers went to Brotemarkle's home to retrieve the truck when a second altercation between the two men broke out.
Ebarra is accused of producing a weapon and shooting Brotemarkle several times, ultimately killing him.
Ebarra was tracked down by police within an hour of the shooting and arrested at a home on Perkins Street.
"The murder charge was added Wednesday after additional forensics were reviewed by prosecutors," the OCSO said.
Ebarra was arraigned on the charges Friday and will remain in the Oakland County Jail after he was ordered to be held without bond.
