MT. CLEMENS (WWJ) -- An arrest was made and more than thirty grams of crack cocaine were confiscated following an investigation into an alleged narcotics dealer in the Mt. Clemens area by the Macomb County Sheriff's Enforcement Team (SET).
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office (MCSO), SET detectives received information that Hadjii Caldwell, 43, was distributing crack cocaine in the city of Mt. Clemens.
The details of the SET investigation were not disclosed, but authorities say they were able to gather enough information to obtain a search warrant for Caldwell's residence on Lindsey St., located east of Gratiot, off of Clinton River Drive.
On Thursday, SET detectives surveilled the home in advance of executing the warrant and observed Caldwell coming home. Officers took the suspect into custody without incident.
A search of the home uncovered around 34 grams of crack cocaine and a scale commonly used in narcotics distribution.
Caldwell has now been charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, less than 50 grams as well as maintaining a drug house.
Bond was set at $50,000. The defendant was housed in the Macomb County Jail and has a probably cause conference scheduled for the morning of May 5.
