DETROIT (WWJ) -- New developments in Detroit will bring about 200 new homes to Corktown and Lafayette Park.
The Michigan Strategic Fund Board (MSFB) has granted state incentives to the Corktown Mixed-Use Project, which will include three new buildings along Michigan Avenue.

There will be apartments, townhomes and stores as part of the $93 million development, which will also result in the creation of 62 jobs, and “transform an underutilized site into a vibrant mixed-use development that will bring much-needed workforce housing and add density to the historic neighborhood."
Meanwhile, Lafayette Acquisition Partners is expecting to spend $133 million to building six, five-story buildings along Rivard near I-375 in the Lafayette Park neighborhood.

The Lafayette West plan calls for apartments, condos, stores along with greenspace.
The project will also include public improvements including landscaping, public lighting, sidewalks and more.
The Michigan Economic Development Corporation says the community revitalization projects will bring total of $226.1 million in investment to the neighborhoods, create new workforce housing in Detroit, and will underscore Michigan as a leading hub for mobility as new electric and autonomous vehicle operations from Ford attract business to the area.
