(WWJ) Well over a year since a woman was murdered in a suburban Detroit parking lot, police are still hoping a tip will help them find her killer.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan on Wednesday shared a trio of grainy security camera photos of a man authorities call a "person of interest" in the slaying of Jennifer Wentz of Roseville.

Just after 2 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020, the 44-year-old single mother was waiting in the parking lot of the 11 Mile Rd. and Hoover shopping plaza in Warren. She was there to pick up her daughter at RUE 21, where the 20-year-old was working a late-night stocking shift.

While sitting in her 2003 Pontiac Bonneville, police said Wentz was shot once in the back by an unknown gunman.

The suspect was described as a Black male with a light complexion, 17 to 25 years old, 5'11" to 6'3' tall, with a thin build, wearing a black or dark blue stitched jacket and black Adidas pants with white stripes down the legs, and dark shoes.

Investigating the case last year, Warren Police said this was believed to be a random attempted carjacking, and they did not believe that Wentz knew her killer.

Calling it a vicious and senseless" crime, Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer on March 9, 2020, said he would use of all his department's resources to find and arrest Wentz's killer within 24 hours.

That did not happen.

Reaching out once again for information in this cold case, Crime Stoppers said investigators are still looking for the man in the photos — seen loitering in the plaza prior to the shooting, then running west toward the alley behind Kroger.

A $2,500 reward is available for the tip that leads to an arrest in this case.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to pay for her funeral, Wentz was always positive, put her family first, and was well known for her big heart. The poster added: "She was an amazing mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend loved by all."
