
ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WWJ) – Police in Royal Oak say a man is recovering after apparently accidentally shooting himself Sunday morning.
Authorities received a 911 call shortly before 8 a.m. Sunday from a man saying he had been shot in the area of S. Center and Fourth Streets in Royal Oak.
When officers showed up, they found the man bleeding near his vehicle. He was taken to William Beaumont Hospital, where he underwent surgery.
While authorities have not said where the man was shot, he is said to be in stable condition following the surgery.

Investigators say nearby surveillance video shows the man shot himself and it appeared to be accidental.
Police recovered the gun.
