
(WWJ) With no arrests now weeks following the slaying of a teenage boy, Detroit detectives are reaching out to the public for help.
On Friday, January 1, 2021, at around 8:30 a.m., police say a 17-year-old boy was shot by an unknown suspect in the 14500 block of Troester, near the intersection of Kelly Rd., on the city's east side.
The teen, was found lying on the grass a short time later, and was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he was declared dead, police said.
As police continue to investigate, there are still no known suspects.
And in hopes that information from the public could lead to a break in the case, investigators are seeking the assistance of anyone in the area who heard or saw anything.
Police did not provide any additional details; including the victim's name, or any suspected motive for the killing.
