PONTIAC (WWJ) – A Pontiac teen who was reported missing by her family over a week ago was safely returned to them Monday night, according to authorities.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said 15-year-old Azuri Keeleaiah-Ameerah Banta ran away from her home on Shirley St., near Willard, the morning of Monday, July 10.
After asking for tips to help find the missing teen, sheriff's officials sent an update Tuesday announcing that the girl was found on Monday shortly after 10:30 p.m., and has since been reunited with her family.
She is OK, according to the sheriff's office.
Police did not say where the teen had been all week. No further information was released.
